St. Helena

The St Helena (6767 tons) which plied for many years between Cape Town and St Helena has now been sold to Extreme Energy, (Formula E racing) Refurbished by Cammell Laird. Engine Mirrless. Black stone completely overhauled and now burns low sulphur marine diesel. ( champagne). 2 controllable pitch propellers inward turning refurbished likewise the rudder also. She will have a 80 seater restaurant and all cabins have had a makeover. She will be used to transport the championship freight and vehicles to the nearest port in which the races are held. Her name remains the same, registered in London.

She would of had trouble fitting meaningfully into last years timetable but I'm sure they know what they are doing. And an overhauled Mirrlees Blackstone elevates her to Formula 1 status.

She's always easy to trace - just follow the trail of black smoke from the K Majors and the RK 270s
