Evergiven

She is due to enter the Suez Canal today, no doubt with very senior SCA pilots on board. Good luck and Bon voyage this time.

According to the Guardian newspaper she has cleared the canal and is now heading towards the Red Sea, what a load of rubbish he should be sacked. She was accompanied by two tugs.

I assume that the Guardian are referring to her southbound transit on the way to the repair yard.

Just a bit behind with the news...

She is now heading for Rotterdam. The SCA will shortly be increasing dues by 6% to transit the canal

I presume that the 6% increase is to enable them to claw back their losses while the canal was blocked?

Evergiven now in Rotterdam, at least she made it with no mishaps, cutting it a bit fine to get her cargo into the shops for Christmas.
