- Biography
- Leith Nautical College 1960 - 63 then RFA Sparks for 30 years. Served the last 4 years with RFA as one of the shore based Electronic Maintenance Team. Served with Kirkcudbright Lifeboat from schooldays in 1958 and during leavetime from deep sea until I stood down in 1989 having been told "You're too old and you wear specs!". This meant I could not sail on the new Atlantic 21 which was replacing our 37 foot Oakley lifeboat. I became Lifeboat Hon Sec/Ops Mgr 1995 to 2005. Full time Harbourmaster at Kirkcudbright 2000-2006 then worked part time at harbour until retirement 30 Sep 2011. Chairman of local RNLI Branch until May 2018.
