ex AB initially with Blue Funnel, where I started as deck boy, then on to other companies including Cunard,
Shell, Vacuum Oil, Fishers, Ellerman, Lamport and Holt, Harrisons, CPR,Royal Mail, PSNC, Metcalf, Mac Andrews
Shaw Saville and a couple of Iron Ore wagons whose ownership I never bothered to find out
I also worked in the Blue Flue shore gang for a while, then drove cranes on Liverpool/Birkenhead docks, and in Cammell Laird's yard, before retraining as a plumber/gas fitter and I spent the rest of my working life until I retired in April 2010 in that area of work.
