- Biography
- I'm the son of a marine engineer, steam and diesel, who has had a life-long love of ships, navigation, communication and sea-going history. My father was the service engineer for British Polar Engines for the NE of Scotland, Shetland, Orkney, Faroe and all the way to Iceland. He sailed for Salvesons, did two years on whaling ships based out of South Georgia, and worked on some of their coastal vessels. When we moved to NZ he was 'the Polar man' for USSCo.
