- Joined Strick line 1971 and went deep sea for the first time on my 21st birthday. First trip was on the Baltistan and lasted for 7 1/2 months , rejoined for second trip and paid off in Bombay after handing over to the Greeks . Spent another 4 years with P/O GCD still sailing on Strick ships apart from 1 trip on the Vendee .
