- Completed Aust National Line cadetship (Marine Engineer), spent ten years there. Ship Manager for four coal fired steam bulk carriers in mid 90s. They were eventually retired at approx 28 yo. 1998 fell into offshore FPSO Business. Various roles working as Chief Engineer then Maint Supervisor (offshore) Operations Supervisor, then Maint Tech ( times were hard, like being a watchkkeeping or gear turn Engineer at sea) some shore roles, then mostly construction / conversion of tankers to FPSOs in Asian Yards, Dubai in 1999 for their first ever FPSO job, and again two years ago, Engineering office jobs in Malaysia, Perth, Oslo and now in a Yard in China.
Wouldn’t have missed it for the world. Planning to grow old disgracefully but not yet retire- still enjoy it in a twisted way. - Location
