I think the nickname 'yellow peril' was usually applied to the series of twelve sisters or near sisters starting with "Stability" of 1949 through to "Fred Everard' of 1958. These were c1550grt, length 230ft. The "Frederick T Everard" and her sister "Georgina V Everard" of 1954/55 were built on a grander scale (2535 grt, 306ft)

Hello Eddyw, I sailed in four of this class, the Similarity twice, the Seniority twice, the Speciality and the Selectivity. They were comfortable ships and in my experience on the whole happy ships. I also sailed in the earlier and larger Superiority. I believe that the Stability and the Security when built in 1949 had, for a short time black hulls. In my time, the Seniority and Speciality were on foreign running agreement, the others that I sailed in were on Home Trade. Bruce.

I sailed on Gillian Everard in 64,always thought they called Yellow Perils because they had no radar at this time. Enjoyed my time on her trips to Land of Free love Sweden up to lakes in Lidkoping nice trip up there.
