GKA

Hello all. Just registered on the site.

Firstly, an unashamed plug for the new GKA website which is now active at www.portisheadradio.co.uk - it is updated regularly so well worth returning.

Secondly, work is in hand to arrange a permanent memorial at the GKA receiving site at Highbridge - I have a meeting with the town council this week and hope to have some sort of funding in place. Fingers crossed.

And thirdly, looking forward to viewing any memories of GKA you may have. 2018 is the 90th anniversary of the opening of the long-range service from Highbridge/Portishead which took over from the previous site at Devizes which opened in 1920. Hoping to arrange a few events in 2018 including a staff reunion (which is nearly fully booked already).
