Argentine submarine

The San Juan has slipped off the news for a week or more now. It is believed they died immediately, may they rest in peace. What I don't understand is, if they recorded an implosion why can they not track down the sub from the records?
A term from some wordsmith in the press went like this,' When the hydro geological conditions improve we will keep looking'. I'm pretty sure he means ,when the weather gets better.'

And the search continues. Now is this the correct place is the question?
