Welcome Ozzie, it's nice that you already know some of the crew here at SH. I didn't when I joined but everyone has made me feel most welcome.

That brings to mind something said of this Island. When we gratefully took refuge from Mr. Wilson's attempts to nationalize even family life the critics claimed that we had joined 50 thousand alcoholics clinging to a rock in the middle of the Irish Sea. Not a failing Pa and I could easily recognise.
Now we are 90 thousand. I hope that the increase in our numbers are not solely disquiet with that other, and still worthy, site as I attribute any present Island ills to the 40 thousand sober bastards who have swelled our number since our lifeboat fetched up on Conister rock. GD II offers many opportunities to imbibe, just like her sister across the jetty. Be prepared to take a cup or two if you jump the pierhead!
