A few ads mean bit of revenue to keep the engines turning, just ignore them if thats possible.

Yes, there are always one or two who have issues with everything they see on the net, they want it all for free and don't see the bigger picture.

Yes, SH is a shipping group as you say, but as Steve pointed out, adverts are the source of revenue.

Please understand that it is free to join SH, but the site costs a lot to run.

Steve should be thanked, not criticized. Without him there would be no site, so please ignore the adverts, and enjoy what Steve has created.

Shiploversa, Can I suggest you go to Shipsnostalgia.com, I think its a bit more you, try and ignore the ads on there but im sure you will be welcome.
