Rainbow Warrior
Rainbow Warrior is in Melbourne today 20 November 2018.
Flying the Aboriginal flag ABOVE the Australian flag which, to me, is not a good way to win friends and have influence. No 'Frog' men were noticed in the water ..................... sadly. Last edited by YM-Mundrabilla; 20th November 2018 at 10:10. |

To me that shows an arrogance that surpasses all international flag etiquette.
For our information is that "aboriginal" flag of Australian origin, or does it have more international origin ?? As she is sailing under the flag of the Netherlands, I imagine their embassy might be interested in this what I perceive as an insult. (Although I suspect our international tree huggers would love the press exposure would this go further than here.) Not that I am against aboriginal rights, but the flaunting of this display doesn't help reconciliation with the indigenous people of Australia. |

Agreed Tom.
It is a clear breach of Australian (at least) Flag Etiquette but few people seem to know or care these days. Respect, decency, manners, the English language and grammar, and courtesy are on the way out. It's dog eat dog out there - only fools obey the law in Oz at the moment. A serious sign of disrespect, as you say Geoff, no one seems to care........all very unprofessional on behalf of the master of the ship in question.

We Live opposite a school and every morning the kids pull up three flags, Australian, N.S.W. State flag and the Aboriginal, for a while they were pulled up willy nilly, {Not a pun} then someone must have realized and now they go up in order of merit.
