s/s Graf Stroganoff 115156
My father was a Marconi operator on the ship from 7.12.18 leaving Garston to discharge in Leith 10.02.20.
Any information about the ship and its voyage would be much appreciated. Thanks |

Labion,
Firstly welcome to SH. This took a little finding but reckon this must be your father's ship. Built 1903 by Furness Withy Middleton - Yard No268 as PORPOISE. Cargo - British. 2911 tons. L99m x B14.3m. Single screw triple expansion - 10 kts. Name Changes: 1906 GRAF STROGANOFF. 1920 San Fortunio. 1921 Galston. 1924 Kanko Maru. Torpedoed by Submarine Wahoo 37.18N 129.33E 09.10.1943. I cannot find any photos of her under any of her names. Neville |

Welcome 'Labion'. This vessel has been looked at before. Maybe on another site. The problem with it is the mix up with the dates that the 'WAHOO' supposedly sank her. Also no exact details of the last three ships that she sank don't seem to be available. I have searched before and will do so again to see if I can solve it. There is an image on Wreck Reports, but I can't be sure it is the correct vessel.
