Printer printing

My Epson XP 55 will only print the first couple of lines of an e-mail.
Prints photos and documents OK.
But will not print e-mails.
Even my Tesco order only prints heading.
Ink levels OK

Have you tried cleaning the Printer heads George?

I don't have an XP55, but my SX435W has a Print head cleaning program - which often fixes that same issue that you are experiencing. Plenty of Epson printer manuals freely available on the Epson website should that not work?

XP55 manual and drivers can be found here

Having reread your post again - if its printing photos and documents without problems it can't be the print-heads at fault! Maybe you need to remove/reinstall the drivers in your PC? The latest drivers can also be downloaded from the same page linked above.

Hi Tom
Thanks for your advice.
Problem has now been sorted by my local pc firm (£46 !!)
Don't really know what he did but it involved BT and putting
a thing called Thunderbird to access my e-mails.
Seems to work so far
Many thanks
George

I don't either George! I hadn't appreciated that Mozilla Thunderbird could resolve 3rd party email application problems!

I downloaded Thunderbird to try it out as an email client for my work (as it is free), but ended up staying with MS Outlook.

Never mind - at least the email printing works now!

Computer Ink

Last year, when I had problems with my Epson XP 55 I bought a new one but kept the
six ink cartridges.

Without reinstalling them on my new printer, is there any way I can find out how much
ink is in each one.
I thought of weighng a new one and comparing it with an old one.
Would this be accurate enough ?
