Hello everyone
I am a refugee from Ships Nostalgia. Went to sea on a Fishery Protection Vessel at the age of 15. Sailed deep sea a month after my 16th birthday. Had a great time for a few years then got married and swallowed the anchor. Served as a police officer with Cheshire Constabulary, worked at BT for 16 years and as a local authority Emergency Planning Officer for the last 20 years prior to retirement. Her indoors used to nag me (prior to Covid) to go on a cruise but I've always been adamant that I would hate to be on a ship that I wasn't allowed to work on. So we're still on the rock. For "rock" read Isle of Lewis.
Glad to be on this site. Murdo |

Ah, Lewis...one of my favourite postings in the RAF, at Stornoway.....remember the evening the Suilven arrived for the first time, still one of the nicest looking ships of the fleet.

Good to have you join a happy throng. Lots of "old" faces here now, plus a gallery that is growing all the time AND is easy to get around!
Roy.
