If the wind doesn't freshen soon, it will be "out sweeps" next.

Mr McC, please see that your best oarsmen are ready when needed. If we don't have any sweeps, do we have a big yuloh to rig at the stern? Any Chinese cutouts?

Fear not, oh ye of little faith! Have ye not remembered the lead lined box on the Monkey Island? We can bypass the Black Bush header tank and feed that liquid through the Uranium 238 rods in the box. Fed to the engines it should improve our efficiency to the point where Sir William will not need his launch to go waterskiing on bare feet. Fed to the boiler, we can quardruple our production of whisky for the next 36 million years.

"Rowing" can be a very therapeutic activity, until it descends into a full on argument and fisticuffs.

Best avoided after sundown when the bar is inhabited by enthusiastic imbibers.

Well there is a bar in Batam that I have been to - Lucy's Oar House!

It is well known in the offshore business where one can drop in and have a pull at the oars and (if one is not careful) end up being the cox for a pulling pair!

This was of course in my past before I was appointed to responsible positions (such as Master at Arms on the GD).

In my new, responsible role however I feel that it is incumbent upon me to venture ashore and check out the local establishments to ensure that I can provide a list of safe and suitable bars.

Now I know that there is a beach trip going on and indeed a shopping trip, but if anyone else wants to help me in my duties to check out suitable bars, please let me knoe.

Meet you for a livener in the bar before we undertake this difficult task.

OK Butterfly, you are the one who brought the subject of ES up so YOU should be the one to debrief me. Not that I cannot take care of myself, it is amazing the kind of damage you can do to the sins, sorry, shins and feet of someone who won't take no for an answer. Although I won't be wearing stilettos to the beach, a beach umbrella CAN make a very handy weapon in a crisis.

Until informed otherwise ES and I will meet up at the beach and discuss the aforementioned differences in the Gaelic Languages. Isn't that right ES?

A bit further along theres a private beach we can use. We can swim without the restriction of swim suits, the wonderful fresh air feeling. cant beat it.
