 As for the nomenclature "HULL" us injuneers refer to it as the outside bit next to the water wot is outside on the other side of the inside bit where we is  Just wait some smart arse will start up an argument over the "shell" rather than the "hull" with the above deck bit being the "superstructure" rather than "deck houses"
