Unfortunately 170 you are correct but that's the way of the world.

I spent a number of years in the Autonomous Enclave of Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire and the excellent training i received there stood me well over 51 years.

The Fw 190 Würger (Shrike/butcher-bird), designed from 1938 on, and produced in quantity from early 1941–1945, was a mainstay single-seat fighter for the Luftwaffe during World War II.

The Focke -Wulf 190 series were not Fokkers. Anton Fokker died in 1939.

yes. It was in many ways a more elegant design than the BF 109.

Lifted from an aviation site key.aero. The consensus is that Fokker was simply a euphemism for what the pilots of the Messerschmitts needed and not the Dutch manufacturer. There are other versions but this is the one I remember:

Not quite your punchline but the famous (fictional) S/Ldr Paderewski was visiting a famous girls school and was asked by the head teacher to describe a typical action.

"Vell - I vas flying along in my Spitfire when I spotted these fokkers in the distance, I dived on them and shot two of the fokkers down, then did a quick roll came up underneath them and shot down another couple of fokkers - the other fokkers flew away in panic"

As the girls were giggling at this the head teacher said - "Of course what S/Ldr Paderewski means by fokkers is that these were the German Focke Wulf 190, isn't that correct S/ldr?"

"Certainly is generally - but in this instance these fokkers were Messerchmitt's"
