Yes DS we have a Betamax in the galley. Second Cook and Baker uses it for mixing pastries and fancy goods. It runs on electricity.

I have no idea about what revs the injuns are operating at, I leave such trivialities to my minions such as ES and Squeek. As Chef Injuneer I is too busy reading the latest Gynaclog... Gyneclo....Gnayclog..... anatomical magazines in my effort for continuous improvement in such wonders of anatomy. In the sake of research I shall risk one eye and I assume the effort is appreciated despite suffering recurring RSI ..... no in Norn Iron it is RHI that is causing all the bother although the cause is down to much the same activity by a bunch of w*****s

I spent months trying to get the donkey boiler to run on wooden pellets and many late nights filling in bloody forms for Arlene before being blackballed by that frigger Jonathan Bell. Cash for Ash my bum. And there is no hot water to wash my bum as V and the Twins sold the boiler burner to a scrap man in the Suez Canal for 20 US Dollars and 2 bottles of Spanish Fly. I am inconsoulable, no inconsidderab, No very pi55ed-off. And starting to ming.

Lerwick has been on my bucket list for years. Beautiful place. My oldest Brother worked out of Stornaway on a tug some years ago. No pubs on a Sunday there I believe.

I'd adjust the ETA if I were you. I have just found furniture beetle in E-S's pellet bunker.

(Have we actually called here? I have a shitload of sausages and booze left over if so. But you mustn't worry on that score, there may be an increase in waist but there'll be no waste).

Instead of fumigating the cargo we can fumigate the bunkers. Woodworm is the curse of the Eco Warriors and the Vegans won't eat them.

Bugger the Vegans I'm having a feed of fried eggs, sausages and fried soda for brekky.

My dear navigator can you anchor off the enchanted Isle to enable one of its dwindling aristocracy exercise his democratic right.

We are what I would describe as fiddle-faddling around with the odd stop off for a pint or two, and most enjoyable it is.

If anyone is sincerely thinking about voting, don't worry, I submitted your postal votes ages ago. I used a random number generator, as at least we can understand that. There will be no political discussion.

Farmer Canute has spoken, no political discussion, we down below wonder how he is going to police it.

The innate common sense and good taste of the crew of the GD will police it.

That, and the fact that I have the keys.

We did, but in a peelywally kind of way. If you feel the darbies closing round your wrists it will be your own constabulary, unless you have forgotten the safety word with a "friend".

All part of the rich melange of our living language, I suspect you may learn some more if you denigrate Mr Varley's name.

Only a couple of days to Lerwick.

Early tide 12th we are docking for refit. Transport covered for all who wish shore leave, full service will be maintained (as far as possible) 'til we sail again, date to be confirmed. I shall be aboard over this time, I have a 3000 piece jigsaw of a glacier and the Ashley book of Knots with 50 fathoms of best hemp light line to keep the world at bay.

Tom, if you drop by we are thinking of you and wishing you well.

Best wishes one and all, and if you are having an election or even something close to it, keep it to yourself.

I have been on to the dock crew. they have arranged for a shore supply so we wont need a generator set running. Rather like these silent ship Christmases aboard.
Farmer John I have a steward and a plastic cook staying aboard and my private bar in my suite will be Open all hours.
A local guy has offered the use of his spare car while we are there so we may sojern around the island if we so wish. Might just take a case of something nice up to the coast guard station as a gift. and also the lifeboat station, they also do a fine job for us seafarers

May I suggest a case of Mr Kippling mince pies. We seafarers need sober and responsive First Responders and must not put temptation in their way.
And in anyways we don't want to run short ourselves. Remember 1987 when we ran short and the behaviour of some of the officers left a lot to be desired.

Well ES, when you are running out of booze, shouting "Women and children first", as you did, was purely playing to the gallery.

Well I reserve the right to chuck Orange peel at you.

Isn't Lerwick pleasantly quiet right now?
