When George's Grandmamma was told
That George had been as good as gold,
She promised in the afternoon
To buy him an Immense BALLOON.
And so she did; but when it came,
It got into the candle flame,
And being of a dangerous sort
Exploded with a loud report!

This, Sir William, follows on from your escapades ashore.

Great party Tom. well done mate. interesting to see how the crew have turned up (come as you are you said) Our female crew must have been getting changed...look great in their undies eh! Varley's fully dressed (must have been busy in the radio shack) deck hands in their Jeans (understandable as they were still stowing ropes and securing gangway)

Strange that the "Donald" has refrained from pontificating about Canadians taking American jobs away when the majority of the team are Canadian? Sorry SSR - but I couldn't help but slip that in. That being the case it seems that the Canadians will win Lord Stanley's Cup no matter which team wins !! Eventaually it only matters as to who is going to be buying whom a drink. :Pint:

#1 hold it is then.

Whew, just made it back in time, but sorry I missed out on Tom's party. I got lost after leaving that bar and found myself in some sort of entertainment emporium called "The Polynesian." The decorations seemed to be an eclectic mix of Pacific islands art works and costumes. It was quite noisy, with all that twangy Hawaiian guitar music over the loudspeakers. The waitresses were all very attractive in their working costumes of grass skirts and coconut shells in appropriately strategic locations on their torsos. There was a fairly boisterous crowd in, I think they were from that flag of convenience bulker at anchor out in the bay. The party started to warm up when various entertainers started to do their acts on a little stage near the bar. It really warmed up when a waitress had an unfortunate accident and tripped over a limbo dancing third mate, and fell on to the stage just when a fire swallowing juggler was reaching the climax of his performance.
Fortunately, there were some water jugs and fire blankets to hand, but we got a bit worried when the chef ran out of the kitchen and chalked up a new "Special" dish on the blackboard.
"Flame Grilled Native Loin Steak au Naturelle."

The other crew legged it back to their tender, and asked if I needed a lift anywhere. Pointing at Golden Dreamer just clearing the pier head, I said I needed to get on board.

"Hang on, we'll get you there in no time." The cox'n shoved the throttles all the way forward, and the mechanic lifted the lid over the twin diesels and fiddled with the cold start buttons , while at the same time squirting a can of easy start into each air intake. The rev counters shot round the dials, and we were up on the plane leaving a big rooster tail in our wake. They quickly came up on the port quarter of GD, just as Sir William rang down for Full Ahead. I managed to grab a line that had been trailing over the stern in the hurry to cast off, and climbed back on board. Barely having time to say "Thanks Fellows," they had turned away and were heading back to their ship, leaving an aroma of unburnt diesel fuel and ether meths .

By the time I had coiled down the mooring line, and tidied up, the party was in full swing. I rushed back to my cabin to change, but then heard Sir William saying what a great time had been enjoyed by one and all. Never mind, we can convene for drinks on the boat deck to enjoy a few sundowners.

Libation?.... isn't that one of those women who prefer ladies?

I knew a girl like that once unfortunately I never found out what part of Lesbia she hailed from

I don't think this one can be down to Sir William - we would have seen the split and tattered edges. Rather worse than a lump behind the ear.

I'm just checking my drinks locker to see what is still in there. As it's not as large as the main supply in Malcom's jurisdiction, I have to limit the selection..... ahhh..I think there may be a bottle of Dom in that corner under the cobwebs.... er no, it's a bottle of Veuve Clicquot, ummmmm, there's a Taittinger, oh dear. Now what's this dusty bottle of bubbly? Damn, R.White's lemonade. Ahh what's this? A small case labelled "Bubbly." It's been hiding here for some time, now whatever can it be? Oh. that's no good at all...... Babycham!

No, hold on,..... here we are right at the bottom. Here it is, Dom Ruinart. Will that do Red-17?

There's a bottle of Myers' Rum, Bacardi Gold, Dewar's White Label, several vintages of port, (so David V will be well catered for), Smirnoff Blue, and to wash it all down there's even a couple of cases of Orangeboom.

Just bring some glasses, and if anyone can rustle up some ice cubes and a bucket they will be very welcome.

farts or gaseous emissions are no problem on the GD.... your "friendly" injuneering department has installed exhaust gas scrubbers in EVERY cabin..... Pharrrrrrrrrrrrrrrttttttt.

Tmac, I can understand the damp feet but what did her deafness have to do with it? I am sure I will regret asking that question.(shaking head)

Has anyone seen Pats lately? Surely there can't be that many distractions in such a small town as Port Townsend? Wonder what she is up to now? Maybe SSR might know where she is????

Just wondering, why is there so much talk about ETOH and references to the 'fairer sex' by the crew of the GD? Maybe they just don't have enough work to do.

Well, the sheep need shearing, the mules need to be rubbed down and Varley's Emu's have run riot in the garden. I expect to see all of this dealt with by tomorrow. Oh, and all of Farmer Johns hay needs to be moved to another area so that I can get the gardens back in order. Chop, chop!

Sorry Red-17. I think it's Dom Ruinart because the label is torn across the second word. That "R" could be a "P" I supposed if you squint hard enough.

Orangeboom is a Dutch brew produced in supertanker filling quantities and consumed by thirsty seafarers because;

a) It's cold.
b) It's indestructible and could survive any adverse storage conditions.
c) There's usually nothing else because the agent took a little incentive.

It can also produce epic amounts of foam if you shake up the can or bottle first, and is therefore very handy in dealing with any accidental fires.

when they were pissed they whispered sweet nothings in her ear or rather drooled champers into it

If you are undertaking the animal husbandry duties the COW in the cargo tanks needs some attention
