If not York then it is HMS Exeter which was at the Battle of the River Plate in 39. You being a Hull lad Winston did you know one of the teachers at Trinity House in the 60's Geoff Haylett was in the Exeter then. Alan

Winston I was at HTNS 61 - 65 and never knew that either. There was a post on the Old Boys face book page with a bit about him also " Nobby " the Admiralty Yeoman and Com Lancaster DSC who was in Subs in the Med during the war. Alan

Left Boulevard School 1959 15 years old. Straight down St Andrews dock to find a ship (Trawler). Didn't know what I was letting myself in for. LOL
