Cueball44,

Correct.

Now all I need is the name of the Minuteman. The beer is everywhere in the east of the US. It can also be bought in UK in some supermarkets. Very good it is to.

Attached gives the history of the monument.

OK - lets have a bit of a maritime feel to these two.

Can you name the two tall ships.

Also can you tell me where they are moored.

The one on the right looks like the Kathleen and May topsail schooner. I was aboard her once in Bideford about 10 years ago. But that doesn't look like Bideford. Last time I saw her was 2 years ago in Liverpool.

I thought it was Hartlepool when the Tall Ships last visited.

Neville, you have made a mistake and given the location away. Just thought I would mention it.

There is a big sign with the location - The year was 2006.

The ship that is pretending to be something that it isn't (those aren't gunports) - No idea but name with two short words and flying some sort of tricolour.

I agree with Kathleen and May.

Gottit! - It is the Jeanie Johnston (or replica thereof) and that is the Irish Tricolour.

Cueball44,

I must admit I had not taken notice of the sign.

Everyone:

However all correct - Jeanie Johnston, Kathleen and May - Bristol.

Will find some more a little later have to go out now.

The photos for today.

Please identify the vessels. Names and where they are moored. Also what they were originally.

Neville.

local so easy one for me for once

location is Bristol.

the green vessel is the BEE of Bristol
ex RMAS Bee (A216) Built 1970

the steeple is St Mary's Radcliffe. the building on the left is the Arnofini

the other vessel is the music ship Thekla
Coaster built 1958
brought and arrived in Bristol in 1983

I hear they may have to move her as there will be new houses built opposite her and i don't think the new owners will enjoy load music and noicses all night

Davidjm,

All correct of course. As you say easy if your local. Yes there has been some uproar about
building houses near Thekla. Typical an active venue which will be out of business because people are bound to complain about noise etc!

I went there on a ship once, then we went back to Canopus but had to stop off at Proxima Centauri to load up with di-lithium crystals.

Erimus,

Yes that's it. I must do more research. Thought that would be the hardest of the two.

Here is another to ponder over. Who are they and where.

No. 146 seems to be the "living statue" - I actually hate these people! - from Victoria British Columbia.

I mean, really, all they do is cover themselves in paint and stand still and people pay them! I could do that outside the pub!

They were vandalised in 2017. If no one answers by 21.00hrs, I will attempt to solve it.
