I see that you are now heading for Santo Domingo (have never been there) but wonder if you require any further crew? You can check my background but I am more than happy for a pier head jump at your next port of call!
By the way, I do like Bushmills, Scapa Single Malt and only the very best wines and brandy! If I can bring some culture to this thread, raise the tone of the saloon and otherwise be of use on the bridge then I am ready to go, bags pacekd already. Let me get my Wagner music down loaded and hope to be able to join you! McC |

I see you are now heading for Santo Domingo - have never been there myself - but have been wondering if you need any additional crew on this mighty vessel?
I should say that I like Bushmills, Scapa (and any other Single Malts) and any good wine and brandy so I reckon I could fit in! You all know my background so if you would like some culture brought to your voyages I am ready, bag packed, for a pier head jump at your next port of call. My Wagner recordings are with me ready to go! McC |

Dartskipper, can you have a word with the fellows on the pilot ladder, we'll take the two extra hands asking for a pier head jump, they must be twins. Just search them for recordings of Wagner before you allow them on board, you know what happened last time. Place was over run with gargantuan women who kept stealing all the saucepan lids and they dressed the ship's cat up as a dragon.

Just been down to see how the Chooks are doing and to shut them up prior to sailing, blow me down, one of them has laid a course for Santo Domingo.
Clever, these hens.

I think the pier head jumps are OK to come aboard. The Wagner music will do nicely for that heliwhirlycopterbirdthingy down the forrard hold. When the Pilot gets back from lazing around Boca Raton, he can wire up the loudspeakers and swap his bone dome for a Smokey the Bear hat and fly off to terrorise the natives, especially the ones learning to not fall off a surf board.
I think some new culture on board will be most welcome, as the only culture I've found so far has been under the shelves in the fridge. I do wish the plasticos would pay attention to use by dates. (They don't mean "use by," they should be "use all up by" dates.) Just nipping up to the Chart Room. Somebody wants to plot a new course, although I thought the old one worked pretty well. It did get us here, after all. Somebody get the stewards to clean out a spare cabin (twin berths) for the new crew! |

Did you go south a few miles to Dania? Jaxsons Ice Cream parlour is well worth the trip if you like traditional ice cream. I was there in 1975, and I just checked the internet to see they are still trading.

welcome aboard Mc Cloggie. Steward! Take Mr Mc Cloggies gear to the Master at Arms cabin while I get him signed on. Oh by the way, Heres a bottle of Glenfiddich, a welcoming gesture for you.
Alweays needed a good Master at arms Aboard. you can set the gangway watches with the cutouts and assist with the hook thingy at the sharp end when we park up anywhere. Pax lounge has a well stocked bar and the crews bar is next floor down just along the alley from your cabin.. Steward! Inform the Galley one extra for lunch today. Hmmmm, Smoko is almost upon us, Come along and meet the others in the PAX lounge. I can hear the clink of glassesd already.

Welcome aboard Mr. McCloggie. I'm sure you will fit in fine on this fine vessel, the only real requirement being to have a somewhat warped sense of humour.
Would the crew please take note that I don't believe Mr. McCloggie has a twin, but rather that he sprited his alter ego, Endeavour Morse aboard with him. So, lads let's raise a glass to our new crew member(s). |

I don't suppose any of the new arrivals will be injuneers.... I was never that lucky.

I suspect that now we are all sufficiently salubricated that we are in a fit state to depart. Would Mr. McCloggie please report to the pointy end to supervise the cutouts in the release of the vessel from the pier. If anyone's down aft, let go there to, please.
Now quietly drifting away into the fairway. Tmac, run silent please so the shore wallahs won't realise we don't have a pilot aboard. (That'll save a couple of bottles of something!) Bridge -- put the Four Bells down and ring for the green button as soon as we are clear of pilotage waters. Advise Tmac the Black Bush header tank is pressed up. |

Put the Four Bells down? That's how we end up with all those compass roses on the charts. Tmac, please work us up to full speed, stealth mode for the next 30 minutes if you please. Your refreshment system is fully replenished, your very good health.

Used one a few times myself. On the railway footplate and on a Paddle Stemer before moving on to oil burning turbine ships ha ha.

Cheers guys and thanks for the Glenfiddich.
The cutouts have been mustered at the pointy end and will secure for sea as we run silently down the fairway. It seems I have been assigned the position of Master at Arms? I assure you I will use the cutous wisely! McC |

And being cut-outs they don't take too kindly to getting wet, so make sure they wear their oilskins when sougiing down.
