Well on our way now -- ECDIS is looking after navigation, cutouts on look out, Sir William fast asleep, quiet calm moonlit night -- Anyone for a night-cap on the pool deck? Make mine a Cuba Libre, par favor, amigo.

Aye, that's exactly the sound of one empty bottle joining another. I have, however, just uncorked a bottle of Tawny (some remarkably good and economic stuff under a Waitrose banner - unfortunately no available by the pipe). Pray join me for a pint or two in the stern solar.

OMG!

Is it time to turn to?

Great discussions with Sir William last night but I now need a very large Bloody Mary and a damn good fry up to get kick started before I join you all!

I do take my responsibilities seriously though so today I am going to inspect the cutouts, muster them at the stores and issue them with new foul weather gear.

At least that will stop them getting soggy!

I'm with you Tom, a relaxer will go down well. To be sociable, I'll also have a large bloody Mary and a big fry-up, the day can only get better with a start like this. I think after that I will join Varley for some refreshments.

whooo hoooo did I just hear the subtle chink of ice in a glass?.... I shall be along presently with a suitable container to imbibe in a parting glass of some nectar of the Gods and some convivial company down the blunt bit at the back.

Bloody Mary eh?... haven't had the pleasure of her for many years, big watery girl with tall eyes if memory serves.

I was going to say "Me, Too" but that has something to do with sexual harassment, and I was never averse to a little of that here and there, especially from the gal that Tmac mentioned, except I think he meant "Tall with watery eyes!"

Santo Domngo tomorrow. I suppose our reputation preceeds us as I gather that there is a rather large queue of young maidens lined up on the quay eagerly awaiting our arrival.

How very observant of you Sir William. I thought that I would just sneak on board and check up on everyone. I see we have a new crew member who seems to be settling in VERY well, apart from that, nothing seems to have changed, which is how it should be.

Has anyone heard from Sister Pat? I am a bit worried that we may have left her behind in one of the ports that we were in a few months back.

I do apologise for going AWOL, do you use that term at sea, I am more used to Army termite, err, terminal, damn, terminology. I shall try and be a bit more active in the future.

So Santo Domingo is it?

The cutouts will be ready fore and aft for harbour entry and I will organise a gangway watch (to ensure that no prams get back on board).

If anyone's reputation proceeds them and measures are required to ensure the locals that you have been transferred to Sir William's North Sea standby fleet and are no longer on board, please discuss with the MAA and appropriate security will be organised to protect the innocent.

McCloggie, you are proving your worth, we have resorted to subterfuge and chicanery before. That and a swift departure under a disguise.

subterfuge and chicanery.... sacked those two scoundrels years ago... both of them thought a flogging spanner was a sexual instrument.... about as much use in the injun room as a glass hammer.

Quite often when we visit a port, there are indeed prams, and sometime angry mothers and fathers with shot-guns, but in this case we have never been to Santo Domingo before.

Here we are -- entering the channel -- prepare to turn short round and starboard tie by the custom's house.

Oh! ...I thought getting tied up with local customs meant something entirely different!

Not to worry, Time enough for that later.
