Windows 10 -Icons
Windows 10 seems to have developed the irritating habit of re-arranging the icons on the desktop, which can be rather annoying. To fix this, right click on a blank bit of screen, select 'Personalise', click 'Desktop Icons, Unclick the box 'Allow Themes to change icons'.
Seems a bit of a daft thing to have as a default setting - but there ya go ! Regards ... Chas |

I use an application called Stardock Fences. It enables you to position your icons into meaningful and labelled groups. Used it for a number of years. Very good.

Thanks Chas.
Mine seem to stay in (more or less I think anyway) the same place. Perhaps I should quit while I am ahead? Or not so far behind might be more accurate ????? Perhaps I have fiddled with some setting ages ago that I have forgotten about ??? Geoff (YM) Last edited by YM-Mundrabilla; 6th February 2018 at 09:50. |

Right click on the desktop and select 'View.' Various ways of arranging icons can be ticked or unticked.
