Hello my learned ship enthusiasts,
A simple question which seems to have a complex answer: What is the official definition of the following abbreviations, please? HMAT HMT HMAHS HMHS HT Supporting evidence welcome! Thanks Mike

Possibly as follows: via Google.
HMAT.......His Majesty’s Australian Transport HMT.........His Majesty’s Trawler HMAHS....His Majesty’ Australian Hospital Ship HT...........Harbour Tug As I said, possibly. KR

For a sparks HT would be High Tension. That's the stuff that lurks in the backs of radars and pops your eyeballs out on the springs if you touch the wrong thing.

Could be used for two things, for type of vessel HT Harbor Tug, for the other Type of Voyage it would be Foreign Trade or Home Trade.
