Bandama ex Silveravon

Mediterranean to West Africa run. 1977. Out from Marseilles to Abidjan with general cargo. Load logs in Abidjan, and bagged coffee in San Pedro, for various Mediterranean ports. Sivomar Line, but staffed by officers from Silver Line.

The design of this ship and her sister Silverness was based on Mitsubishi's MM14 Liberty replacement. Hull was identical but cargo gear and accommodation modified. Design and construction quality were excellent but the MM14 was too expensive for its intended market and only five were built to the original specification.
