Great comical actor.

I read today that 'It Aint Half Hot Mum' couldn't be repeated today because it was outdated and politically un-correct. (I suspect all of us here are outdated, so f***ing what ?)

I find that strange because as I remember the series it was a send up. And it sent up just about every thing, the Army, History, the Empire, Class, Nationalism, Racism … you name it, it got sent up.

Have we really got to the stage where we can't send anything up anymore ? … If so, we're in more trouble than I thought.

Thankfully, I have the series on DVDs and, in memory, I will start re-watching them tonight and dream of the nannies, fairies, snowflakes, the politically correct and me too brigade who I hope will be offended.

'Oh dear, how sad, never mind, too bad - SHUT UP' (Sgt Major Bryn Williams, It aint half hot mum)

The series would be banned today but violence, sex, nudity and crude language are aired without a qualm. We ARE in more trouble than we think.

Laughing is forbidden these days.

Agreed to all of the above.

I missed the first run of the series, but caught up most of it in the repeats. Brilliant subversive humour throughout, as Bob has said.

Thanks for all the fun and laughter, Windsor Davies. R.I.P.

What on earth has happened to our country? We used to reckon the Germans were the race bereft of humour. I suppose it’s our own fault for letting the PC lot get away with their nonsense.

Maybe I'm too old and long in the tooth, but generally I never mean to offend anyone -------------BUT ----------- if I do offend someone then it's too bad -- they'll just have to suck it up, Buttercup!! What most of the PC crown don't seem to understand is that "offense" works both ways as well. They want my respect, but don't seem inclined to give me any -- after all I'm one of those weird happily married for almost 59 years, with 4 children, 5 grand children, 13.3 great grand children, tons of friends and a great sense of humour. How strange is that?
