Abandon Ship

The 'Abandon Ship!' Exhibition on the HQS Wellington tells the stories of OTAKI & RICHMOND CASTLE and the surviving crew members. This free exhibition is open 21st May - 6th November (Sundays and Mondays only, 11am - 5pm), with the exception of planned closures:
18 & 19 June
25 & 26 June
3 July
11 September
The exhibition marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the SS Otaki, and the 75th anniversary of the sinking of the Richmond Castle.
The exhibition aims to share the story of the ships and crew of the Merchant Navy who served during two World Wars. As part of the programme the Wellington Trust is organising a range of events offering opportunities for people of all ages to get involved and have fun learning. All events will be free – although as a charity, the Wellington Trust will welcome donations.

I, on behalf of The Radio Officers Association (ROA), have had a very small amount to do with this exhibition with R/O research and I will be giving one of the lunchtime talks in June. I have a couple of colleagues also lined up for the 20 minute talk later in the year. It looks like a very good and worthwhile exhibition if you can get to it.
