History Forgotten...... again.

There are reports in today's Press that the vertically challenged, vote rigging, megalomaniac "President" of Russia changed one word and the whole meaning of his annual Victory Day Red Square speech. Instead of stating that the Soviet Union was "united" in the fight against Germany, he said that the Soviet Union was "alone" in the fight. It wasn't a mistake it seems because he used the word "alone" again when his speech ran:-

"In the battle against Fascism our people were alone - alone in the laborious, heroic and sacrificial path towards victory."

So Vladimir, 87 Merchant ships and 18 Royal Navy vessels sunk with the loss of over 3,000 lives counts for nothing? Over 7,000 aircraft sent by sea, as well as the fuel and lubricants and ammunition so they could help defend your Motherland, tanks, guns, provisions, the list is endless.

We've got enough trouble at the moment with a French President who doesn't know his geography or how to read a navigation chart, without another foreign leader re-writing history to match his own warped view of the World.

Roy.

Re writing history is nothing new in Russia, (or for that matter, a lot of other countries, including ours.)
Putin is becoming more and more Stalin orientated and I think we're heading into dark waters, possibly even darker than the Cold War. At least that was something of a 'Mexican Stand Off' of that as at its height, the USSR was led by those who had direct experience of the 'Great Patriotic War,' and knew the consequences of a World War Three.
KGB trained Putin has no such experience.
