Burt Reynolds Dead

Burt Reynolds, the charismatic star of such films as Deliverance, The Longest Yard and Smokey and the Bandit who set out to have as much fun as possible on and off the screen — and wildly succeeded — has died. He was 82.

He certainly lived the Dream. He had some tough times in his later years, but got himself together for the last Quarter. I understand that he could have had a career in the NFL if he hadn't had a bad injury in College Football. He made the Quarterback character in The Longest Yard very believable. The Smokey and the Bandit films were great fun.

R.I.P.

I think a man who never took himself too seriously, and who enjoyed his career with that distinctive laugh. (I can think of no better distinction than a good laugh …)

Deliverance however was a serious performance on his part, and pretty serious film all round.

RIP Burt, good job all round.

Just watched Smokey and the Bandit last week. Absolutely hilarious unlike many films when seen the second time around. It wasn't Burt himself but the whole film was summed up in the one word --- "Banzai"

They don't have actors with his charisma anymore, today's so called actors could take a leaf out of his book.
Hope he finds a good part were ever he ends up.
