My Austin allegro Estate .
one of the most reliable cars i owned

Freinds even borrowed it to go on honeymoon to Scotland , had
it a fortnight , done nearly a thousand miles and never missed a beat .

You were lucky, many people claimed that Allegro was a mis-spelling of All aggro.
The original Harris Mann concept looked so much better but they decided to put an off-the-shelf engine and heater under bonnet - this was the result.
From a Trade point of view the first problem was that one could not use a regular trolley jack without special adapter pads to stop the jack from bending the floor pan, and stopping the door from opening. Yes, it actually happened.

i had three .

The estate and 2 saloons . no problem .

one was even in brown .

had a big list of cars and motorbikes over the years .
Include rangerover / daimler soveriegn 4.2 . plus other big cars

bought my BSA GOLDSTAR 500cc in 1963 still own it plus the Squire single seat
sports sidecar .
Law then as learner you could only ride up to 250cc , but fit a sidecar and as a learner you could ride up to 500cc .
