Didn't realise that the Rolls-Royce MT-21 concept went back to 1947. You would have thought even us Brits would have managed to get it work correctly in time for the Type 45s entering service over 60 years later! But even then the MOD have just had to spend £160m increasing the diesel generator capacity of compensate for the GT deficiency.
