Fearless, Intrepid, Diana
Can anyone advise me , how I can get a copy of my brother Kenneth Jordan, who served aboard the above ships in the 1960s.
Ken, was a CPO in the engine room,( and was a best friend of Malcolm Uren, who he has stayed in contact up until recently)when he ‘bought himself out’ of the Navy, to move to Australia with his Australian wife, Madeline (Maddy). He has Alzheimer’s, and is struggling with his fond memories of his RN days. I have checked and service records in the PRO are only available up to around 1945 at present. I am visiting him in April next year, and will source generic photos of his ships. His/my brother (Kip) apparently took all my brothers memorabilia and destroyed it at some stage (Kip committed suicide some years ago) Ken (from my memory, I was about 11) did a world cruise around mid to late 60s. If anyone can help, possible shipmates who remember him, and could email copies of photos, I would be most grateful. He played rugby for his ship (and possibly) Royal Navy at Fly -half. I have a portion of him in his kit, I think he was based in Hong Kong for a period. If anyone can help please let me know, and I can contact you, with email address. It would mean a lot to me, and my big brother. Thanks Nick Jordan |

Sorry, I am hoping for a copy of his service record, or any other papers he would have received when he left the RN..
He also had a lot of photos of his deployments, he used to send me copies when I was a little sprog. Basically anything that he would be able to remininisce over I guess. Unlikely I know, but you often see RN Official stamped on photos, etc. And/or a copy of his service record. Just things he would have been given on his discharge. My problem is time, and it is a big ask, but if I can get what he obviously would like to be able to remind him of his time in. Whatever that may be. |

Hi Nick,
When leaving the service we were given our service record (S.459) with us at the time. He needs to apply to the MOD. Unfortunately, there is no short cut to obtaining them. For applying for his own service record use this https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military...ur-own-records Fill in this online form: https://submit-a-data-protection-req...e.mod.uk/start You can mention reasons why you would like it quickly. No charge for your own records. Hope that helps Regards Hugh
